Poland is one of Europe’s fastest-growing economies and one of the biggest issuers of work permits to non-EU nationals. Common roles are in welding and metalwork, construction, warehousing and logistics, manufacturing, truck driving and IT.
Pay
Wages vary widely. Many skilled manual jobs pay roughly PLN 5,500–9,000 gross per month, and experienced welders, drivers and IT specialists earn more. Employers must pay at least the national minimum wage and what comparable Polish workers earn.

How the work permit works
- The employer applies for a work permit, usually “Type A”, at the regional office (voivode).
- Since 1 June 2025, Poland’s new law on employing foreigners moved key steps online and removed the old labour market test for most cases. It also introduced a list of occupations excluded from permits.
- With the permit and contract, you apply for a national (D) work visa at a Polish consulate.
- In Poland you can later apply for a temporary residence and work permit (single permit).
Finding jobs
- Search EURES and the official Polish job portal (praca.gov.pl).
- Apply directly to established manufacturers and logistics firms.
- Use only licensed employment agencies. Polish agencies must be in the national register (KRAZ).
Red flags
Visa appointments for Poland are in high demand in some countries, and “appointment sellers” and fake permits are common. Verify your permit with the issuing voivode office before paying anyone.
