How to Find US Employers That Actually Sponsor Work Visas (Free Methods)

Stop guessing. Public government data shows exactly which US companies file H-1B and green card applications, and what they pay. Here is how to use it.

How to Find US Employers That Actually Sponsor Work Visas (Free Methods)

The biggest time-waster for international job seekers is applying to companies that never sponsor visas. The good news is that the US government publishes data showing who does, and it is free.

1. Department of Labor disclosure data

Every H-1B petition starts with a Labor Condition Application (LCA), and every employer-sponsored green card normally needs a PERM labour certification. The DOL’s Office of Foreign Labor Certification publishes these records every quarter. They include the employer, job title, worksite and offered wage.

  • Download the files from the DOL “Performance Data” page.
  • Filter by job title (for example “Software Engineer” or “Registered Nurse”) and state.
  • Note the employers that file the most applications. Those are your targets.

2. USCIS H-1B Employer Data Hub

USCIS runs a searchable H-1B Employer Data Hub showing approvals and denials by employer and year. It is a quick way to check a company before you apply.

3. Seasonal jobs: SeasonalJobs.dol.gov

For H-2A (farm) and H-2B (non-farm seasonal) jobs, the official job orders are listed on SeasonalJobs.dol.gov, with wages and contact details.

4. Apply the smart way

  1. Apply on the employer’s own careers page, not through random WhatsApp “agents”.
  2. Say early and honestly that you will need sponsorship. Companies that sponsor are used to it.
  3. Tailor your CV to US format: no photo, no date of birth, achievements in numbers.

Scam check

A genuine US employer will never ask you to pay for a job offer, an LCA or a visa petition. If someone does, it is not a real sponsorship offer.

Frequently asked questions

Do sponsored jobs pay less?

No. Employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, and LCA data shows the actual offered salaries.

Are paid "sponsor list" websites worth it?

Most repackage the same free government data. Download the official files instead.

Should I mention sponsorship in my application?

Yes, be honest early. It saves time on both sides.

Information checked in October 2026. Immigration rules change often, so always confirm the latest requirements on the official government website before applying or paying any fees.

Apply only through the employer's official website or a government job portal. Genuine employers never ask you to pay for a job offer, interview or visa sponsorship — if someone does, it is a scam.
